What I love about these keto chicken nuggets is that there is no sugar in there, at all. And I also love knowing that I can create low carb chicken nuggets that legit taste like chick fil a in the comfort of my own home. I’ll give my kids these chicken nuggets any day as well.

I am so done with sugar. Did I mention that? It’s amazing how when you think about everything that we eat that has sugar in it, it’s just about every single recipe out there.

Seriously, I can’t even think about eating anything sweeter than a lemon at this point.

Good thing I’ve wrapped up the recipes for my cookbook Paleo Eats and can concentrate on finally whittling these last pounds off and getting healthier.

So in that vein, here is a super simple paleo chicken nugget recipe that is sugar-free and low carb.

I tried to take more photos of these nuggets but my son and husband destroyed them. Literally 10 minutes after they were out of the oven they were eaten. They were gone faster than the last time I made them multigrain chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries

Keto Chicken Nuggets

This is one of my favorite keto recipes because it’s a simple way to use chicken pieces and create a tasty keto recipe that the whole family can enjoy. I love that I can make keto friendly sugar free chicken nuggets and myself and the kids will never know the difference.

These keto nuggets make it super simple to eat low carb and this is probably my favorite chicken nuggets recipe. This gluten free recipe is simple, easy, and tastes so much better than any other fried chicken nuggets that you may buy at a store.

The good news? You can make keto chicken nuggets in no time at all. All you need are a few skinless chicken breasts, and some other simple ingredients and you’ll be chowing down on low carb keto chicken nuggets in no time at all.

What you’ll need for these Keto nuggets:

The following ingredients are what you’ll need to make these keto chicken nuggets. You’re going to love this low carb recipe that is full of flavor and taste! I still can’t believe that one of the best ingredients in this recipe is pork rinds!

How to Make These Keto Chicken Nuggets Recipe:

Are you ready to learn how to make these keto chicken nuggets? The combination of the coconut flour and the rest of the ingredients add the flavor that kids love!

In a medium bowl place your cut-up chicken pieces and then add in your salt, pepper, onion powder and coconut flour and mix thoroughly.

In a separate bowl crack your egg and mix in the water to make an egg wash.

On a small plate place your crushed pork rinds.

Take one chicken nugget and quickly dip it in the egg wash then roll it in pork rind crumbs.

Place on your greased baking sheet and repeat.

Bake in your oven for 20 minutes at 365 degrees

These bake up nice and crispy just like a traditional chicken nugget.  They also reheat really well if you manage to have leftovers. Just put them in the oven on 250 for 10 minutes or so.

What do use as a dip for keto chicken nuggets?

I love dips but again, I’m trying to stay away from sugar. Why go to all that work of making these keto chicken nuggets only to have a dip loaded down with sugar? Instead, I’m found that I love using sugar free ketchup as my main dip of choice.

Since the coating of these chicken breast nuggets is easy to pair, you can use any type of dipping sauce that you want.

Notes and variations for making keto chicken nuggets

If you don’t want to use pork rinds you can also try using crumbled sweet potato or cassava chips for the final breading.

As long as you’re aware of the net carbs that you’re trying to stay under for making this nuggets recipe, you can play with the ingredients and coating as you need to. These keto chicken nuggets are are fast and easy way to try out different flavors or tastes. You might even want to try using almond flour as well.

Just be certain to know the ingredients as well so you keep the recipe gluten free.

Tips for storing keto chicken nuggets

More than likely, you’ll have a few chicken nuggets leftover – which is great! These low carb fried chicken nuggets make for great leftovers! (and I love having leftovers because it means that I have another meal waiting and ready!)

The main thing to keep in mind for these gluten free chicken nuggets is that you’re going to want to store these in the fridge. The coating is going to become softer as leftovers so you might want to slowly reheat them in the oven to try and make that coating crisp again. I think that you’ll find out what this is one of my favorite keto chicken nuggets recipes because they’re so good, even when reheated as leftovers!

Have fun making these keto chicken nuggets. This shows that eating keto chicken recipes are a fast and simple way to get that fried chicken flavor without the extra carbs and greasy coating.

Just when you thought that you wouldn’t find a keto friendly chicken nuggets recipe that you love, along comes this tasty dish that you need to add to your keto menu. It’s fast, simple, and certain to be one of your new favorite recipes! Don’t delay in adding this keto chicken recipe to your list!

  1. these look great. this may be a silly question but where do you get good quality pork rinds? I live on the OR coast and don’t have access to any stores other than Fred Meyer or Costco. Can I order them online?

  3. My husband and I liked these very much, although I think I will brine the chicken next time so they can cook a little longer and crisp up just a bit more.

  4. Kelly, you say “a bag” of pork rinds. Some of the bags at our store are 5 times the size of others – – and, anyway, I want to use some that I make myself. About how many cups of pork rinds do you use for the recipe? Thanks.

  5. I tried these last night and modified a bit.

What worked? Food Processor for the pork skins. Adding a little Smoked Paprika and/or Cayenne Pepper to the salt/pepper/flour mixture. I also like the idea of making tenderloins as opposed to nuggets. Just need to cook a little longer.

What didn’t? Adding a little mayo to the egg wash (turned the pork skins too clumpy.

Thanks for the recipe…will be repeated.
