Every morning the Bejelly household wakes up and, after coffee, we take our supplements. The Little also takes part in this ritual – minus the coffee- and he gets his multivitamin and DHA every single day.
The sad truth is that due to the depletion of minerals in the soil, eating whole natural foods everyday isn’t enough to insure that you’re getting the nutrients that you need every day. This doesn’t even take into account those who simply can’t get the nourishment they need daily due to income and/or location.
During the month of July, Whole Foods is partnering with Vitamin Angels to donate vitamins to at-risk individuals – pregnant women, new mother’s and children under 5.
For every purchase of Whole Foods or 365 Everyday Value Supplements, Whole Foods will donate 25 cents to Vitamin Angels. Now 25 cents might seem paltry but it will provide Vitamin A to one at-risk child for the entire year.
Amazing Grass, Garden of Life, Jarrow Formulas, Reserveage, Nordic Naturals and Source Naturals are also supporting this important cause by donation a portion of their sales to Vitamin Angels.
How does Vitamin A help?
- It’s important for normal eye health. Night blindness and loss of sight can result from a Vitamin A Deficiency.
- It supports your immune system so you become less sustainable to infectious diseases.
Vitamin Angels is hoping to help 30 million children this year by providing them with Vitamin A. Only with you help can they reach this goal.
To support this cause I did my grocery shopping at my local Whole Foods and stocked up on our cod liver oil. I seriously love how by simply doing my normal grocery routine, I was able to help this organization.
