paleo pantry guide

This is a partnered conversation.

Having a well stocked and organized  pantry is key for staying on track of your diet and your budget. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought multiple items because I forgot that it was in my pantry.  I don’t know about you, but I like my pantry to look pretty so I was so stoked when Mighty Nest sent me some Weck canning jars,  Anchor Hocking Stackable Glass jars with lids and some Simax glass storage containers.  Seriously,  my inner organizer geek screamed with happiness.

Combine this with the fact that Mighty Nest is commitment to education, this company gets five stars in my book.

They donate 15% from every order to the school of your choice.  How cool is that? Not only are they passionate about helping families live healthier lives they are helping schools ya’ll.

Tips for managing your Paleo Pantry:

1. Invest in a clipboard with a Pantry inventory checklist so that you aren’t buying duplicates.

2. To keep foods for the longest period, store in a cool, dark, dry area.

3.  Buy in bulk to help trim your budget an only buy as much as you expect to use quickly so you don’t let food expire.

4. Store the food in clear glass containers.  Glass jars are the perfect eco-friendly solution.
  • They seal tightly (most are airtight).
  • They are easy to clean.
  • They are cost effective.
  • They don’t leach harmful petrochemicals.
  • You can store pantry items vertically so you can get more into a smaller area.
  • They are dishwasher safe.
Simax
Weck Canning jars are perfect for storing homemade jams, perseveres and ferments.

The Anchor Hocking Stackable Glass jars and Simax Glass storage containers  are perfect for dry storing goods like your nuts and seeds, almond flour, coconut flour, cacao and more.  The Anchor Hocking Stackable Glass jars can be vertically stacked so they are perfect for those with a small pantry area.

 5. Label jars with the ingredient and store date.  Use the oldest stock first and make sure to rotate your pantry so your ingredients stay fresh.

I put the glass jars to use immediately.  I stored some coffee in the Anchor Hocking jars, Sardine pate in the Weck jars and almond flour in the Simax jars.  I adore them all but the Simax are my favorite so far because  I love their design.  If you haven’t tried them, I recommend you buy a set today.

Without further ado, here are the items I keep stocked in my paleo pantry.

  1. Thanks for posting this free printable! I’ve been trying to think of a way to inventory our freezer as well. I actually had some of those Anchor Hocking jars around! But I’d love to win some more. I printed two sheets and will use one to manage all the food we have in our deep freeze.

  2. Thanks for posting this. This is very helpful. I have a question and hopefully you can help. We buy our flour and rice in bulk. the 25 bl bags from Costco and I cannot figure out a way to organize them in my pantery without using plastic. Any ideas?
