Camping is one of my favorite things to do with friends in the summer. I go out, set up a tent, get a fire going and just sit around that fire enjoying everybody’s company. However, one thing that is definitely difficult to do, is eat healthily when I am out there, especially if I am craving those classic camping foods.
I am not even going to lie; I definitely have healthier habits when I am at home. Especially because in the last few months, I have discovered meal planning. This has become one of my tools in figuring out what I am going to buy for the week. It also helps to figure out what I was going to cook that evening, and make sure that it is not only delicious, but healthy for my body too.
And in light of the camping season, I have decided to give you guys some basic tips and tricks for your next paleo camping trip.
One trick that I have for healthy/paleo camping is with different cooking tools. And they are:
–Camping Stove with fuel (and something to make it lit like matches or a lighter)
-Cooking utensils – spatula, knife, spoon
-and of course Plates, and Cups
As I have mentioned before, I have discovered meal planning, and it is a fantastic trick that I have learned in my daily life. This can also be an important trick for when you are trying to figure out what to bring with you on your camping trip. Just make a list of meals that you want to make while you are there, and then a few days before you head out, shop for all the ingredients that you need. This makes it ten times easier, not only on your brain, but your health as well.
