You struggled to go back to school at some point in your childhood, especially after a long sweet summer holiday. The thought of waking up early to go to school is a buzzkill for even the best kids, and that is why they need your encouragement to get ready for the new school year. Here are four priceless tips that you can use to get your kids ready for school.

1. Read with your kids

Children get quickly bored with routine activities, and reading is not an exception. You can spice up their reading culture by reading with them.  Some of the interesting books to read with the kids include Maggy, Maggy, May, What Do You Say? by Patty Favier and I’m Going to Give You a Bear Hug! by Caroline B Cooney. Reading with your kids instills confidence in them, making them yearn to show off their reading skills in class.

2. Prepare the kids for school routine

One of the biggest challenges you might face after the kids head back to school is adherence to the new routine. More often than not, the kids will struggle with waking up early or getting to bed at the right time. The best way to overcome this challenge is prepare them physically, mentally, and psychologically for the school routine.

3. Take the kids for a pre-visit to the school

If the kids were on holiday for a long time, it is prudent for you to take them for a pre-visit to the school. A visit to the school would prepare the kids mentally and psychologically before the official opening date, especially as many children have been homeschooled during the COVID pandemic.

4. Go shopping with the kids

It is recommended to take the kids with you for school supply items. Allowing the kids to make choices motivates them to go back to school. Allowing them to have a say in their clothing choices and school supply choices will empower them at the start of the new school year.
