Although it feels like 2021 just started, we are already just a month away from Valentine’s Day. After all of the shipping delays that happened around the holidays, you probably want to get a jump on buying the perfect Valentine’s Day present for that special someone in your life. Here are some ideas that are unique and will show the thought that you put into their gift.
There are more than 650 muscles in the human body, and a lot of times at least a few of them feel sore. If your partner tends to get stressed out or has a rigorous exercise regimen, a massage could be the perfect gift for them. If spas are open in your area, a gift certificate for a massage or two is a great gift, as is booking a couples massage for the two of you around Valentine’s Day. If those businesses aren’t open right now, you can always go for the DIY route and offer up a massage from you. For that gift, you can buy some massage oils as well to give your partner the full massage experience.
If your partner is the sentimental type, this is a great gift for them. It is also one that is mainly DIY, so if you have a smaller budget for your gift, it’s a great choice. Once you’ve bought a scrapbook to fill, you can start to think of some page ideas for the book. You can print out pictures of the two of you and your favorite places and add in other items like recipes or notes that you’ve left for one another. If there are any other special things in your relationship, like a shared hobby or a favorite quote, you can include things related to that as well. Make sure to leave some blank pages in the back so you can add more memories as your relationship continues on!
Custom Star Map
This is another gift that is great for a sentimental person. Getting a custom star map of an important date in your relationship not only functions as very cute home decor but also as a reminder of a special day for the two of you. Some dates that you could choose include the day you met, the day of your first date, the day you got engaged, the day you got married, the first time you said I love you, or any other important night in your relationship. There are many versions of these star maps on Etsy, and on some of them you can even add things like song lyrics, so look for the one that you think your partner will like the best.
Date Night Jar
If you and your partner constantly feel like you’re struggling for date ideas, making a date idea jar is a great gift idea. Take some time to look up some date ideas that you can do during covid, and write out each one on a popsicle stick or a nice piece of paper, then put them all into a nicely decorated mason jar. You can use a glue picture of the two of you to the lid of the jar, and you can tie a tag around the mouth of the jar that explains what the date night jar is. The best part of this is that if one of you comes up with another date idea, you can easily add it to the jar. Once things start to reopen, you can also add more dates where you can go out and about as well.
Something That Smells Good
In this category of presents, there are many things: candles, essential oils, room and pillow sprays, and more. If your partner loves to have their space smell like a certain scent, picking up a candle or reed diffuser that they can leave out can be a great option for a thoughtful gift. If they’re part of the 78% of Americans that love going to bed on sheets with a fresh scent, getting a room, pillow, or sheet spray with a fresh smell, like lemon.
A Custom Portrait
If you want a custom gift that will show how thoughtful you are, commissioning a custom portrait from an online artist is a great gift choice. No matter what style portrait you want, there is likely an artist out there that will take commissions to draw you and your partner in the style of your choice. Make sure to take into account how the portrait will be delivered to you — will it come digitally or will you get a print included with your order? If it’s coming physically, will it have a frame? If it’s coming digitally, make sure to get it printed out and get a nice frame to accompany it.
Something For Their Hobby
If your partner has a certain hobby that they dedicate their time to, buying something that they use or need for it is a great way to show that you support their hobby. For example, if your partner is a runner, buying them running accessories like socks or running-specific sunglasses can make their runs that much better. If your partner is a car buff that takes a lot of pride in taking care of their Mercedes Benz, you could get them some of the synthetic oil that they use for their car. They have to change their oil every 7,500 miles, so you know they’ll use the oil and appreciate the thought behind buying it for them. Make sure that you get the kind that they prefer, so look for the oil containers wherever they perform their car maintenance.
Valentine’s Day is a fun day to show your partner how much you love them. If you’re struggling to think of a gift for your special guy, try a one of a these from Manly Man Co.® bacon roses!
