Before I became a parent, I didn’t have any sleep issues. However, when I welcome home my blessed bundle of joy, it was the first time I experienced the true harmful affects of sleep deprivation – depression to the point where I starting having thoughts of suicide.
It was a dark time but through God’s grace, I got through it and started getting some sleep. However, instead of falling into a deep peaceful sleep, I was not staring at the ceiling at 1:00 a.m. listening to my husband snore like a bear and absolutely clueless on what to do.
The last thing I wanted to do was pharmaceuticals so I started looking to natural remedies. I tired 5-htp, which gave me nightmares, and then the much love melatonin, which I hated.
I knew there had to be a better way to help people with insomnia. By the way, if you’re not sure what insomnia is, it’s the inability to sleep.
If you:
- Can’t turn your mind off at night
- Lay awake at night and it takes you more than 30 minutes to fall asleep
- Wake up in the middle of the night and it takes you more than 30 minutes to fall asleep
You might have insomnia like I did.
So I dug deep, looked a scientific studies and put together a simple plan that only really required a few tweaks (no major life changes here people) with the stress relieving power of coloring and I finally was able to sleep.
I put all this information into my bestselling guide Well Rested. If you want to find a lasting solution to your sleepless nights learn more about The Well Rested Guide here.
I love how something simple like de-stressing can have so many positive effects on your health! Great post 🙂
