Can a dog really shake off a 6mm tumour that never comes back? Can a dog really go on long walks again after fighting off seemingly chronic arthritis?

Can a dog really shake off a 6mm tumour that never comes back? Can a dog really go on long walks again after fighting off seemingly chronic arthritis?

If you start using CBD oil for dogs, the answer is “Hell, yeah!”

Dogs really break our hearts when they become ill. We feel so helpless. And while taking a trip to the vets can help, the drugs that are prescribed are not always helpful, and they’re certainly not natural.

CBD oil has hit the headlines a lot lately for what it can do for adults and kids. It’s been able to reduce anxiety, treat cancer, and it can even prevent seizures.

What’s less well-known at the moment are its amazing benefits for your canine. But yup, dogs are just a big a part of the family as we are (let’s face it, they’re probably bigger) and they deserve to be in on this CBD oil thing, too. In this article, we’re going to take a look at the many ways CBD oil can benefit your dogs.

What is CBD Oil and Will It Make My Dog High?

Two very pertinent questions.

CBD oil is basically cannabidiol oil, which is – as you’ve probably guessed – extracted from the cannabis plant. It’s totally natural, totally non-toxic and can be used as an alternative to harsher, more traditional forms of medication.

Because CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plant, your dog will not get high. This is because hemp is a non-psychoactive derivative of the cannabis plant and contains just 0.3% TCH, which is the substance responsible for making people high.

As such, it’s 100% safe for your dog to use.

But why would you use it? Let’s take a look at the benefits of CBD oil for your dog.

CBD Oil Reduces Anxiety

In humans, it’s been found that CBD oil makes it easier for us to do public speaking. While we don’t expect your dog to do a spot of public speaking anytime soon, CBD oil has been found to reduce anxiety among very anxious and worried dogs.

And let’s face it, there’s nothing more upset than a traumatised dog that literally doesn’t even want to go to the park anymore.

And there’s nothing worse than having to leave our dog for a few days while we go on vacation. Separation anxiety is a thing, people!

CBD oil can help dogs with their their anxiety, stresses and even their phobias. When used appropriately, it can make them feel much more like their normal selves again. Ruff!

CBD Oil Can Help With Seizures

Does your dog suffer from seizures? It’s just awful watching our fur baby have a seizure – it’s absolutely heart breaking!

It’s not terribly uncommon, however, with around 5% of dogs suffering from epilepsy.

If you take your dog to the vet, it’s normal for the vet to put them on drugs such as potassium bromide. However, while the vet’s intention is no doubt good, the problem is that these drugs come with side effects. For example, potassium bromide can harm your dogs liver.

Worse still, the drugs don’t always work.

CBD oil is totally natural, has no side effects, and it helps with epilepsy and seizures.

CBD Oil Helps To Relieve Pain

One of the saddest things about a dog is that it can’t tell you when it’s in pain, where its pain is located, or what type of pain it is. While CBD oil can’t help you with any of these questions, it can help to relieve a dog’s pain.

This is because it’s a strong anti-inflammatory that doesn’t come with any harmful side effects that are typically associated with the drugs prescribed by vets. CBD oil is good at managing pain, and it works for various pain-related symptoms.

For example, CBD oil can help with pain caused by inflammation, intestinal inflammation, pain caused by oxidative stress, neuropathy pain and nerve-related pain.

Because it has no side effects, it’s well worth exploring for the sake of your dog (and your own aching heart).

CBD Oil Reduces Nausea and Helps to Restore Appetite

Having trouble getting your dog to eat lately? No matter what you try – new dog food, biscuits or even steak! – it just won’t have it.

Situations like this are always distressing for pet owners, but there’s a solution that you might not have tried yet. CBD oil has been studied by The National Cancer Institute who came to the conclusion that it stimulates appetite.

It’s also been shown to relieve nausea and vomiting. As such, it’s a good idea to try them with CBD Pet treats. These are CBD oil-infused edible treats aimed at dogs (and cats) who want something different that’s also super healthy for them!

CBD Oil Can Help With Autoimmune Disease

In the film Greenberg, Ben Stiller’s dog is diagnosed with an awful autoimmune disease. Stiller has no idea what to do and didn’t even know dogs could suffer from autoimmune disease.

It’s probably common for a lot of pet-owners to not know that their dogs could have an autoimmune disease. But when it strikes, it strikes bad.

What you also may not have known is that CBD oil can help to reduce autoimmune disease in dogs, as well as chronic inflammation. This is largely because CBD oil has anti-inflammatory properties and should be considered as an alternative to conventional drugs.

It’s also a very potent antioxidant that is more potent than vitamins C and E.

Where to Buy CBD Oil

Lots of companies are selling CBD oil online. However, because many new brands aren’t actually meeting the standards of what CBD is meant to offer, you need to be extra careful that it’s soy-free, lab-tested and 100% natural.

To that end, we recommend these CBD oils for Dogs.

Conclusion

Essentially, a sick dog makes our life so much harder. When our dog is in pain, we’re in pain. If you’re thinking of seeking out natural, side-effects-free alternatives to conventional drugs, CBD oil offers plenty of benefits for your dog(s). Just make sure you buy the right type and you and your dog will be a lot happier and healthier from now on!
