Are you fed up with the unhealthy lifestyle and intend to embrace a healthy lifestyle this New Year? Well, the South Beach Diet is exactly what you need.

Are you fed up with the unhealthy lifestyle and intend to embrace a healthy lifestyle this New Year? Well, the South Beach Diet is exactly what you need.

The diet entails a weight-loss regimen that involves consuming a healthy diet consisting of carbohydrates, vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and unsaturated fats.

Finding time in your busy schedule to focus on your health can be a challenge but it is the best gift you can give yourself in 2020. Here are valuable reasons why you should not ditch the South Beach Diet this year.

Helps in Maintaining a Healthy Body Weight

Many individuals still disregard the fact that their diet speaks volumes about their health. If your diet comprises greasy chicken, keto sweet and sour chicken,  fries, and pizza do not expect that you’ll lose weight and be in top shape.

The only time you’ll start losing weight is when you realize your general health depends on practicing a healthy lifestyle. Put in mind, it’s not about weight loss but also about giving your body enough protection against health problems.

Even if you don’t look overweight it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re in good health. For more information, you can go to DietDynamo.org by Norman Schmidt and you’ll find multiple reviews on south beach diet and healthy living.

Helps in Preventing Hypertension

Hypertension is usually the number one cause of cardiovascular conditions today. A third of most adults today are candidates of high blood pressure but are not aware of the fact or disregard the thought entirely.

High blood pressure is the main predisposing factor for cardiovascular diseases like stroke, aneurysm, and heart attack. Maintaining a strict diet is very crucial in lowering your blood pressure by reducing the risk factors.

South Beach Diet, in this case, will encourage you to consume lots of whole grains, low- fat dairy products, fruits, and vegetables. Consult your doctor for proper diet recommendations if unsure.

Prevents and Controls Diabetes

Diabetes is also among the leading causes of cardiovascular diseases. It is estimated that 40% of the world’s population comprises individuals diagnosed with diabetes.

Diabetes is a condition in which the body fails to produce enough insulin thus failing to absorb glucose resulting in sharp increases in blood sugar levels. Incorporating a healthy diet will help in not only losing weight but essentially lowering cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure.

Maintaining a diet rich in low-carb high fiber foods, fruits and vegetables are highly recommended. Barley, Oats, sourdough bread, melons, berries, oranges, carrots, broccoli, and legumes should never be missed in your diet.

On the other hand, eliminating refined foods like cold beverages, snacks, candy, and fatty foods helps to facilitate proper production of insulin thus reducing the risk of diabetes.

Help Refine Exercise Regime

Exercise plays an integral role in achieving a good healthy lifestyle. South Beach Diet will be a success if it is done alongside regular exercises.

Exercises will help boost your metabolism while enhancing weight loss. The exercises are incorporated into the South Beach Diet that is structured in three phases.

In the first phase, you eliminate foods that are high in refined starch and sugar. In the second phase, you start consuming foods that were prohibited in the first phase until you achieve your target weight. Phase 3 will then involve eating a healthy diet to maintain your weight while undertaking regular exercise.
