You’ve been thinking about your honeymoon for months and now it’s finally here! It’s the first trip you two get to take as a married couple. After the last few stressful months of wedding and reception planning, you get to escape to a far-off destination, relax, and enjoy each other’s company.

You’ve been thinking about your honeymoon for months and now it’s finally here! It’s the first trip you two get to take as a married couple. After the last few stressful months of wedding and reception planning, you get to escape to a far-off destination, relax, and enjoy each other’s company.

As excited as you are to hop on a plane, train, boat, bus, or car to jumpstart your honeymoon, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got everything packed for a successful trip. One of the first things to consider is that if you drive your car to the airport, make sure to look for discounted airport parking!

Important Documents

Before you get to the clothes, shoes, and other items on your honeymoon packing list, start with the important documents. No matter where you’re headed you’re going to need to have these items with you. This includes your driver’s license, passport, credit cards, airline tickets, health/car insurance, and copies of reservations.

Tech and Accessories

These days, no one travels without a few tech devices on hand. You don’t want to get halfway across the world to realize you’ve left things like your smartphone, digital camera, laptop, or other mobile devices. You also don’t want to arrive and realize you can’t charge these devices so be sure to bring along chargers and adapters as well.

Health and Safety

The idea is to go on your honeymoon and have a great time, but you never know what could happen. For your health and safety, it is recommended that you pack any medication and medical devices. You can also pack a first aid kit, bug guard, sunscreen, sanitary napkins, allergy meds, motion sickness meds, supplements, vitamins, and more.

Items for Her

When it comes to packing for your honeymoon, you need to consider the destination you’re traveling to. Factors like the weather and what you’ll be doing once you get there will greatly determine what you need to have packed. For instance, if you’re going to a beach resort, then you’d need to have a honeymoon bikini on hand. You’d also want to have a few trendy items to wear when you’re not at the beach or pool like a few sundresses, pairs of shorts, t-shirts, and plus size rompers. If, however, you’re going on an adventure honeymoon you might need jeans, running sneakers, layers like sweatshirts, and hoodies for exploring.

Items for Him

The packing rules also apply to guys. You want to consider the destination, time of year, and activities to know specifically what to pack. Some suggested ideas might be a few pairs of shorts,  pants, jackets, sweaters, and t-shirts. As for footwear having a pair of running shoes, sandals, and dress shoes would suffice.

Toiletries and Cosmetics

You may get complimentary lotion, soap, and shampoo in your hotel room, but it’s always good to have your own. For your honeymoon, be sure you’ve packed your makeup, lotion, soap, body wash, perfume, cologne, and whatever else you’ll need to stay fresh and look your best on vacation.

You’ve taken the time to plan the perfect wedding and reception to celebrate the union of you and your partner in front of friends and family. It’s only right that the two of you take off and enjoy each other’s company. Before you do, however, just make sure that you’ve added all the above-mentioned items to your honeymoon packing checklist for a successful trip.
