There’s nothing like taking a trip with the kids, going on a romantic vacation with your significant other, or indulging in a therapeutic trip alone. Yet, any time you can get away from your hectic routine and enjoy some time with your best friends, it’s an experience like no other. A fun-filled, kid-free weekend can often be the resolution you need to your often stressful daily life.
If you’re going to have a good time with the girls, however, you’re going to need to plan well in advance. Here are a few suggestions on how to tackle the specifics of your girls’ trip:
Set a Per Person Budget
Before you start deciding where you go or what you’re going to do, you need to figure out how much you have to spend for your weekend girl’s trip. Once you’ve figured out how much you can afford, reach out to your girls to find out their budget. Depending on how many of you are going on the trip, you can find decent package deals for groups that can greatly reduce your out of pocket expenses.
Choose a Destination
You can travel just about anywhere you’d like depending on your budget, but the idea is to do something different than you would if the kids or your spouse were with you. As you think of ideal destinations for your girl’s trip, think about the personalities of your friends, their interests, and things you’ve always wanted to do or see. If you guys love to party, looking for a place with a great nightlife scene would be ideal. However, if you’re looking at the trip for some rest and relaxation, then perhaps you could go with a beach resort with spa services.
Decide on Activities
If you want to make the most out of your girl’s trip then you need to have some awesome activities lined up. Outside of relaxing by the pool or getting a massage, what things would you guys love to do? Don’t be afraid to try new things either. For instance, if you’re headed to San Diego to soak up the sun, you can add to the festivities by going on one of several San Diego Tours. You can taste wine, tacos, beer, and more as you explore all the city has to offer. If you happen to be going on a beer or wine tour you may want to take along a designated driver and hangover supplements just in case someone drinks too many cocktails.
Rent a Vehicle
If there’s a large group of you going on this girl’s trip then you don’t want to forget to rent a vehicle. Sure there’s public transportation available, but trying to find a large enough vehicle to hold you all may not be easy. Renting a van or SUV ensures you can all travel together during your vacation.
Make Arrangements for Home
You’ll want your household to survive while you’re away, so make sure you’ve made arrangements for the home. Tidy up the house, prep meals, and arrange for loved ones to help out with the kids. This way, you can go on your trip and have a good time without stressing about home.
Friendships are priceless and mean so much to your overall well-being. Every now and again it’s a good idea to strengthen those bonds with a trip. So, the next time you have a free weekend and some extra cash reach out to your besties and use the tips above to plan a fun-filled girl’s trip.
