A high-fat diet contains saturated fats that provide the body with a lot of energy, and does not increase significantly the amount of cholesterol or body fat. Studies show that it is, in fact, a low-fat diet that contributes to high cholesterol accumulation. Individuals whose diet comprises of low-fats tend to increase their carbs intake. It is these carbs that eventually get converted to fats that lead to lifestyle diseases such as heart attacks and diabetes. There is also a significant drop in the level of good cholesterol in those that focus on a low-fat diet.

Prevents Overeating

According to various researches, it is easier for individuals to bulk up on carbs, than it is for them to overeat meat products. Imagine relaxing on your couch eating popcorn, cake or crisps. You can eat crisps the whole day without thinking about it, but it would be impossible for leisure to eat cheese or eggs in the same manner. The latter fill you quickly and you lose the interest to continue eating, but the former keeps you going. It is such carbs that lead to obesity when converted to fats. Animal foods get you satiated since you get more nutrients that the body requires than from eating carbs.

While plant proteins are essential to your diet, they provide very little nutrition in terms of building your body as compared to animal proteins. It is better, and even healthier, therefore, to have more eggs and meat than it is to have beans and lentils.

Considering that 25% of that fat is saturated, then it makes sense to feed on a high-fat diet to provide your brain with the required nutrients. The brain consumes approximately 30% of all the calories intake, despite its small size relative to your entire body. You can only get such amounts of fats from meat products, as they contain more of these fats than you would find in vegetables.
