After being cooped up all winter you and your friends are probably bursting to get out and go on adventures. Lucky for you we have prepared a quick list with some of the most fun options for you to get out and try with your friends.

Try an Escape Room

On those rainy days when you all had plans to go outside and now need to practice mud avoidance, but feel like the bar would just extend winter you can escape into an escape room. Escape rooms can be found in most places, in fact, there were an estimated 1800 escape rooms in the United States in 2017. Escape rooms are a group puzzle-solving game that allows everyone to make suggestions as you figure out the clues to find the key. These are great if you and your friends enjoy figuring out mysteries and codes.

Try a Night of Intrigue at a Murder Mystery Dinner

There are a couple of options for a murder mystery dinner, so you can do something that fits everyone’s budget. Firstly, you can go to a murder mystery dinner hosted by your local historical society or restaurant. Lots of local historical societies host murder mystery dinners as fun ways to raise funds for their preservation projects. Since these are charitable events they do come with some costs that may be outside your and your friend’s budgets. The upside is that you will be supporting a local institution and your ticket can be a tax benefit, in addition to the food and entertainment.

If going out to a murder mystery dinner is too expensive, then you can always host one. There are lists of roles and mysteries available online at reasonable prices, and it’ll be even more cost-effective if your dinner is a potluck with all your friends bringing a dish to go with the theme of the dinner.

The murder mystery dinner, at an event in your community or at a friend’s home, is a fun alternative to a game night or going out for drinks. Plus everyone can dress in costume to match their assigned role in the mystery.

Visit a Brewery, Winery, or Distillery

Craft beer does not just mean IPAs! Your local brewery may be transitioning from their heavy stouts into lighter ales and sours, plus many breweries have live music, so you can find new bands while trying new beers. Distilleries are the new breweries, there are so many popping up all over, and they are distilling all kinds of liquors, in fact, 52% of respondents 18-29 said they tried whisky, scotch, or bourbon in the last three months, and they probably tried them at a distillery tasting. Many distilleries offer cocktail-making classes which can be a fun group event, and you will get a nice little recipe book to take home for your murder mystery dinner.

Go For a Hike

Getting into the outdoors is a great adventure to go on with your friends. You can take silly pictures at the edge of a waterfall or explore a mountain nearby. Hiking with your friends is a great way to explore places you wouldn’t normally go to. After hiking with your friends you can discover a new diner or brewery that can become your new hangout spot. Plus getting out in nature can remind you that warmer weather and beach days are on the horizon.

Binge Watch Together

On those rainy April days when you really just want to stay in and watch a movie, you can! With videos becoming one of the most popular ways of consuming content it is no wonder YouTube has over 2 billion visitors every month and there are applications that allow you to sync what you are watching with your friends even if they are on the other side of the world.

Spending time with friends, whether it’s in person or digitally, is a great way to pass time. In the spring, there are some things you can do that you couldn’t in the winter because of the cold weather, and enjoying those activities with your friends makes them even better.
