I’ve decided it’s time to share my love of natural skin care and beauty and I’m kicking off this new series with my favorite Honey Cinnamon Mask.
I am huge fan of cinnamon. I take it in my herbal coffee every day since it is well know for regulating insulin response. Now cinnamon can be used for much more than spicing up your favorite sweet or coffee, it has many uses for the skin.
Benefits of Cinnamon for the Skin
- Cinnamon stimulates blood vessels and brings blood to the surface of the skin. It can help improve fine lines by plumping the skin. The skin smooths out and the lines diminish.
- Cinnamon is often used as a treatment for acne.
- Cinnamon has been shown to increase collagen in skin up to 6 hours after it’s applied. College is what keeps your skin firm and youthful looking.
- Cinnamon has been used to improve skin tone
Now that you know how much of a rock star cinnamon is, it’s time to make this recipe. Please perform a skin test before using cinnamon paste on the skin.
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, then apply the mask to clean skin.
Let it sit for approximately 20 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water, gently rinsing in circular motions. Moisturize as usual and apply weekly.
Because cinnamon brings blood to the surface of the skin, sensitive skin types should take precaution.
