4 Fun and Unique Wedding Venues
4 Fun and Unique Wedding Venues

Each year, there are about 2.4 million weddings in the United States. And for the most part, all weddings typically look and feel the same. But if you and your fiance are not a traditional couple, you may be looking for a more fun and unique wedding setting. In fact, about 40% of brides and grooms look for venues that reflect their personality. We’ve compiled a list of a few non-traditional wedding venue ideas you may want to consider for your big day.

In a Theater

If drama, musicals, and shows have been something you have shared as a couple, then a theater may be the perfect wedding venue. Imagine getting married on stage in front of all of your family and friends. And most theaters already have the ability to serve refreshments, including alcohol. If you want the feel of a theater with an outdoor setting, consider looking into nearby amphitheaters. Either way, your wedding will be a production your guests are sure to never forget.

On a Boat

If you and your sweetie share a love of the sea, a boat is the perfect place for you to tie the knot. And with 95% of Americans living within one hour of a navigable body of water, you’re sure to find the perfect water setting for your wedding. You can choose from something like a sailboat or a yacht or there are even some historic ships that are open for weddings. No matter what kind of boat you choose, you and your guests are sure to enjoy being out on the water for a magical day.

In a Treehouse

While a lot of weddings take place outside, not many take place up in the air. Treehouse venues can be absolutely wonderous — they typically consist of cottages on stilts in the forest. You may have to have a more intimate wedding due to lack of space, but it will be worth it. You and your guests will be able to get in touch with nature with a true woodland wedding theme. You can even take it to the next level and plan outdoor activities like hikes and campfires. Treehouse venues are perfect for the true outdoorsy couples.

At a Zoo or Aquarium

Do you absolutely love animals? If so, you should consider getting married surrounded by some of your favorite animals at a local zoo or aquarium. Many of these facilities offer public space that can be rented for special events, including weddings. You can exchange vows and enjoy the presence of your favorite creatures. Better yet, you can incorporate animal or jungle themed decor into your wedding to further enhance the experience. And don’t forget to plan your signature cocktail and favors around the animal theme as well.

Your wedding day is exactly that: yours. So don’t settle for something traditional just because it’s the normal thing to do. Incorporate some of your and your fiance’s interests and hobbies for a day as special as you are as a couple.
