Turmeric is an herb that has been rapidly gaining popularity. It is commonly used in curry dishes, and is high in Vitamin C, Calcium, B6, Potassium, and Magnesium.

Eating turmeric is not the only way to enjoy it’s benefits, though! Turmeric can help to cleanse, smooth and improve the appearance of your skin. It’s being said that it helps to soothe acne and aid in healing blemishes. That can be due to the antiseptic and antibacterial properties that turmeric naturally  has. It’s anti-inflammatory properties can also soothe rosecea, ezcema and restore a youthful glow to your skin.

Turmeric is beneficial for oily skin as it regulates the production of sebum, an oily substance produced by the sebaceous glands. Turmeric, in combination with other ingredients, is effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and helping to hydrate dry or combination skin.

Being an excellent exfoliating agent, turmeric can help eliminate the signs of aging. This is by the sloughing off of the dry, dead skin cells and revealing the smooth, fresh skin underneath.

Honey in this recipe helps to nourish, hydrate, and lubricate skin. It also has antibacterial properties that can help to kill off acne causing bacterial. Honey can also help to even out skin color and improve the appearance of acne scars and dark spots on the skin.

Yogurt also helps to destroy acne causing bacteria with it’s live cultures. It can also nourish and hydrate the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and supple.

Lemon is a natural astringent that can help to tone oily skin. It can help remove excess oil, bacteria and dirt off the skin.
