I am so excited to introduce you to my cookbook, Paleo Eats.

For me, starting at the age of 11 and at my mother’s side, cooking became more about comfort, family, and yummy-yummy deliciousness than properly or healthily fueling my body. From garlic-fried rice to chocolate chip cookies, food brought us together, sparked conversations, and almost served as a beloved family member.

When my doctor diagnosed me as pre-diabetic, I broke down at the vision of a future filled with doctor’s visits and needles, and began mourning the loss of foods that, quite simply, made me feel loved and supported. I couldn’t imagine my son growing up without treats like ice cream and fluffy bread, either.

That’s when I turned to a Paleo-diet, also known as a gluten-free, grain-free diet. To my joy, not only did I lose 65 pounds and recover my health but I also began rediscovering food. My mother’s cooking lessons motivated me to stretch and transform recipes, allowing me to retain my beloved comfort food.

Join me on this food journey to bring happy food— that is good for you as well – to the table.  My book reflects comments and input from readers of my blog “A Girl Worth Saving” and pays homage to all of the comfort food recipes you thought were out of reach when you went Paleo.

Inside are 111 grain-free, gluten-free and dairy-free recipes.  Yes, I over delivered on the 101 recipes promised on the cover. I’ve included some of my absolute favorite dishes, from Southern to Mediterranean to Filipino (Thanks, mom!) recipes. You’ll find the perfect recipe to make dinner a success for you and your kids, even the picky ones.

  • You know the nice, sweet, thick Teriyaki sauce you get from your favorite takeout joint? Now you can have it at home, too!
  • The Best Ever! Simple Sweet and Sour Sauce in 30 Minutes.
  • A tangy, robust BBQ sauce that tastes so good, you’ll want to slap your mama.
  • Creamy Ranch that tastes  just like your favorite, store-bought-version, so no one will guess it is healthy..
  • And so much more!

  • French Toast made from thick slices of sweet bread, soaked in a mixture of beaten eggs with coconut milk and cinnamon, that is nut-free.
  • A recipe for one of the best Granola you’ve ever tasted – crunchy, nutty, and just sweet enough.
  • Fresh onions, spinach and spices team up with eggs for a mouthwatering Quiche without the fuss of the crust.
  • And so much more!

  •  Is there anything more tempting than a big, golden, crispy-on-the-outside-juicy-in-the-middle piece of Southern fried chicken?
  • Your grill has seen its fair share of hamburgers.  Tonight, turn traditional cookout cuisine on its head with Mediterranean-style Gyro Burgers.
  • A layered and baked Mexican-inspired Enchilada Casserole is made with tortillas, ground beef, kale and lots of spicy homemade enchilada sauce.
  • And so much more!

  • You won’t need to turn on your oven for this rich and creamy No-bake Silky Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake that is egg-free.
  • A devilishly delicious Devil’s Cake recipe that will make you forget your name.
  • Cinnamon and Coconut crusted Unfried Ice Cream that even the most ardent coconut hater will love.
  • And so much more!

  • A refreshing and healthy Ginger Mint Cooler drink, perfect for the scorching summers.
  • Strawberries and coconut milk combine into a drink that no Kid can resist – Strawberry Milk
  • And so much more!

  • A simple, no-fuss deep-fried recipe for Hush Puppies that are crispy and delicious.
  • A garlicky recipe for Hummus that is both delicious and satisfying.
  • A classic and flavorful Caesar Salad can be used as a delicious start to any meal or makes a perfect light meal on its own.
  • And so much more!

  • Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle the Bread Sticks taste just as delectable as the real thing.
  • Cornbread that is  tender and  lightly sweet. It’s baked up in a skillet for a crispy bottom crust.
  • It is an amazing, versatile Sweet Bread recipe that can be customized into different treats for your family.
  • And so much More!

Seriously, I wasn’t joking when I said I had a book baby, because I have the baby weight to prove it.

I’ve made sure to include recipes your family will enjoy on your favorite celebrations: Birthday’s, Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! Plus, you’ll spend more time eating than cooking, an important factor in any meal planning.

“This was one of the most amazing things I have ever made. My husband and children could not get enough of it. In fact, I doubled the recipe and there really wasn’t a whole lot left over (I do have two growing boys who can eat quite a lot). 🙂 I don’t usually even like meatballs and I loved it!! Great job! This one is a keeper. Can’t wait until the cookbook comes out so I can try more!” ~ Tayna

“This was amazing!!! A great side dish to go with any meal! My 2 year old even ate it!” ~Amy

” YUM! Even my coconut-hating 12-year-old gave it two thumbs up!” ~Joanne

“Cucumber salad was AMAZING. Nobody knew it was so healthy they thought I used OTC ranch. HAHA!”  ~ Sharonpaleo recipe cookbook
