It’s a fact that you can not have cake without frosting. Yes, you can get creative and make a ganache frosting but Fluffy Paleo Frosting is a must. I hate to admit it but before I went Paleo I was totally the person who would buy the canned frosting and eat it as a treat. I remember always wanting the corner piece of any cake (still do) since it’s loaded with frosting.
For this recipe I use Sustainably harvested Palm Shortening. If you don’t want to use Palm shortening you can use butter or leaf lard. It’s super easy to make just make sure the fat you use is at room temperature!
For my yellow cake recipe in the photo go here
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup palm Shortening
- 2 tablespoon B grade maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- To make the frosting, whip the palm shortening, vanilla and maple syrup together until completely blended with a hand blender.

Will this work with coconut oil?
It may if you whip the coconut oil first.
