There are rightfully lists and lists written about what makes Texas so great and the thing is, each list can look vastly different. That’s how great the Lonestar state is. However, there are two things that must make each list of the best that Texas has to offer - their Burgers and their BBQ.

There are rightfully lists and lists written about what makes Texas so great and the thing is, each list can look vastly different. That’s how great the Lonestar state is. However, there are two things that must make each list of the best that Texas has to offer – their Burgers and their BBQ.

The Salt Lick BBQ

A Texas staple since 1967, and not a far drive from Austin, it’s easily considered one of the best and it wouldn’t take more than a few bites for you to see why. A perfect spot if you are part of a larger group and looking to accommodate everyone.

Hard to believe, but there’s the chance someone in your party doesn’t like BBQ. I know, crazy but possible. If that’s the case, I’m sorry, but let’s hope they at least like wine and can find themselves comfortable at the Salt Lick Cellars which offers many fine wines for tasting and/or purchasing.

The Grease Monkey

Known not only for their burgers, but also for their part in the revival of the historic section of Arlington itself. They are conveniently located near AT&T stadium so that means you can get a great bite to eat as a pre-game treat or as a way to wind down after seeing the Rangers or Cowboys play their next games.

Next time you’re in the area try their Angry Burger. If you’re from out of town, before you even finish your plate, you’ll be looking around for Arlington apartments because you will not want to be more than a short drive from this delicious spot and all it has to offer.

Chris Madrid’s

Even in a big Texas way, sometimes simple is all you need. A menu doesn’t need to contain much when everything on it is perfect. Outside of burgers, all you can find are nachos and chalupas which perfectly shine a light on the main event: Chris’ burgers themselves.

While the namesake of the restaurant is no longer with us, his dream and passion lives on as the San Antonio staple it’s been since the restaurant’s opening in 1977. Passing through? Stop on in and enjoy the richness that comes from the restaurant’s simplicity.

Pecan Lodge

It’s a dream for many Americans to leave their jobs behind and follow their passions. One tried and true success story is the Pecan Lodge. Who knew their effort to get more family time would result in becoming one of the top BBQ spots in the world? Doesn’t matter if you’re in the mood for brisket or banana pudding; they don’t believe in shortcuts with anything they cook up.

Just to give you a taste of how serious they are, their BBQ pits run 24 hours a day. Alongside that, they do all they can to ensure as much as possible is made from scratch to guarantee the best possible quality for their customers..
