Having all of your high-quality cooking essentials stocked in your kitchen cupboards will make creating your next meal that bit easier.

  1. Saucepan

A saucepan is required for pretty much any recipe. In fact, it’s even necessary to heat up a tin of baked beans. The more expensive sets tend to be better quality and will last longer. When you need to cook anything with liquids such as pasta or vegetables, or if you want to warm up your soup. Usually, they come in sets of three with various sizes, which is perfect for when you need to heat up more than one thing at a time.

  1. Large Frying Pan

Another cooking essential for beginners is a non-stick frying pan. This item can be used to fry and sauté meats or vegetables for a number of delicious meals. Whether you’re cooking up some fried eggs, or attempting a stir fry, a large frying pan or wok should be in everybody’s kitchen cupboard.

  1. Microwave Plate Covers

Vented microwave plate covers keep your microwave clean by protecting it from splatters of hot food. Covers can come in a range of sizes depending on the diameter of your plates. They may seem unnecessary, but you will change your mind next time you spend an hour cleaning the inside of your microwave because your food exploded all over it!

  1. Burner Covers

When you aren’t using your kitchen stove, they can get in the way when you’re trying to chop your veggies, or bake a cake. You need counter top space to prepare food properly. Investing in some burner covers to hide the top of your stove or hob can immediately enhance your counter space. It also makes your kitchen look cleaner and tidier.

5. Measuring cups and a food scale

If you’re not using a scale, be sure to use the correct conversion (check out coolstuffshub.com for help with calculations) when following recipes that call for measurements (e.g., cups, teaspoons, etc.). If you don’t have a scale, you can still purchase cups that are marked to make measuring easier and more accurate. Measuring cups should also be heatproof and calibrated to work with your preferred measuring system. You can also use a liquid measuring cup to measure dry ingredients. If you do this, you may need to reduce the amount of the dry ingredient by the amount that it would take to fill the measuring cup.

6. Knife Set

If you want to cook anything, a knife set is essential. Most knife sets come with several knives of various sizes and a much-needed sharpener.

7. Chopping Board

Another essential when it comes to cooking anything. Most recipes need some ingredients to be chopped up, so get yourself a chopping board, alongside your new knife set. Boards can be made of plastic or wood. Generally, the plastic ones are easier to clean, and won’t retain the smell of the food as much as those made from wood

8. Mixing Bowl

Mixing bowls are used for a lot in cooking as well as baking. Even the simplest of recipes requires multiple components to come together, so you will likely need more than one mixing bowl. They come in multiple sizes and are made from plastic or glass. The glass ones are more durable, but are more expensive to buy, and are harder to clean.

9. Whisk

A whisk can be a life saver. It’s a quick and easy way to combine ingredients. They’re super cheap to buy, and will last you a long time

`0. Wooden Spoons

This last kitchen essential should be in everybody’s kitchen drawer. It’s a utensil that you need for almost anything, from turning meat in a frying pan to combining dry ingredients for a cake. Make sure you always have a couple of wooden spoons to hand.
