I buy uncured bacon about once every month or two. I’d rather get most of my fats from avocados, cheese, nuts & olive oil, just my preference.
Mmm sounds good.
Ladies, what’s with all this talk of “Oh, I only eat bacon once every blue moon when I’m feeling crazy”?! It will not wreak havoc with your cholesterol, it is full of amazing satiating fats, and is nutrient dense. I haven’t even gotten to the fact that it’s one of the tastiest substances on the planet!
To counteract all of it, I proclaim right here and now that I love bacon, I eat it ALL the time, sometimes more than one meal a day, and won’t apologize for it! Buy it uncured and local, if you can.
Oh, and thanks Kelly for linking to my meatloaf recipe! That one is awesome, especially as leftovers with two fried eggs on top for breakfast. 🙂
